Arriving at the Resort

Well it is Sunday night. We arrived at the BLR (Biggest Loser Resort) about 2:30 today after a 2 hour shuttle ride from Las Vegas. We took the Executive Shuttle from the airport because it was supposed to be real nice, have refreshments, touch ipods for use on the way...etc. Anyone not in the front seat couldn't see because the windows were poorly tinted. The refreshments were the bottled water stuck in the pouch of the seat in front of us. And NO IPODS!!! Anyway...
It is a nice place. The rooms are nice and roomy. Actually better than the pictures on the web site! (Which is a step up from last nights stay at the Imperial, which had peeling wall paper and mold around the tub.) Everyone here is nice, I think genuinely nice. It is located at the edge of a small town (Ivins). But not close enough to go exploring even if there was time. We went to the room and unpacked and walked around until weigh-in at 3:40. It is private, no one else sees what you weigh. They weigh you in, do your Body fat and BMI, then take measurements. We got a free BL water bottle!! ( OK we paid dearly for it).
Dinner was at 5:30 and very good. A salad bar was available and dinner was served to us. It was a marinated vegetable pasta. It was amazingly good and filling. We even had desert (95 calorie) It was sort of like chocalate pudding on grape nuts. Hmmm. Not bad, not great. Then we had orientation, letting us know that there should be no contraband, turn it in!!! Contraband includes any food not provided by them. There is no caffeine allowed either. One of the women even told a story about someone sticking a Reese's cup wrapper between the weighs on a weigh bench. She said they locked down campus and did thorough searches. She was kidding, but she said the housekeeping will tell on us if it is in the room. Funny!
Well 6 AM Circuit in the morning and 8AM Hike. Time for bed. GOODNIGHT

  1. It doesn't sound too bad so far, except for the hotel part. Maybe you could have donated some of your penny-slot winnings to the hotel to clean up a bit.

  4. Darcy,

I'm going to Fitness Ridge in May and I'm probably flying into Vegas. How much was the shuttle? Did you have to make arrangements for it prior to flying?

    Thanks.
